This research is aimed at isolating, partially purifying and determination of arginase from the kidney of a local goat. Methods used in the isolation and partial purification of the enzyme include; Ammonium sulphate precipitation, dialysis.etc. Result from this work showed that arginase isolated from a local goat has a specific activity of 0.358 with a yield of 12.12% incubation of the enzyme with different metal ions shows that the enzyme is inhibited by Nacl and Bacl2.
